Deborah Simmons

Dr. Deborah Simmons has provided specialized counseling for infertility, infertility treatment, third-party reproduction, decision-making, pregnancy loss, and traumatic delivery, including premature delivery, for more than 25 years. She evaluates gestational carriers and egg donors, and she prepares straight and gay intended parents for gestational surrogacy, donor eggs, and donor sperm. Her professional affiliations include the Mental Health Professional Group of ASRM and the European Society of Human Reproduction and Embryology (ESHRE). She is an active professional member of Resolve: The National Infertility Association. She is a Mental Health Advisor to the board of Parents Via Egg Donation and a past member of the Medical Advisory Committee of ReproTech. She is the author of We Are Always With You, a love story for preemies and preemie parents. Dr. Simmons received her PhD in Family Social Science from the University of Minnesota. She has a Master’s degree in public administration from George Washington University, and a Bachelor’s degree double major in international relations and political science from American University. Prior to being called to the world of reproductive health counseling, she worked as a Congressional aide and a lobbyist in Washington, DC., and a policy analyst in St. Paul.
