Vickie Schafer, PhD
Vickie Schafer is a licensed psychologist in private practice in Austin, Texas. She works with individuals and couples using reproductive medicine to have children, conducts recipient consultations, gestational surrogate evaluations, and therapy for those managing infertility, pregnancy loss, and perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. In 2021, She was a part of the Texas Psychological Association’s Senate Bill 8 Task Force, which provided guidance to psychologists related to the abortion restrictions in the state of Texas. Dr. Schafer is on the board of the Pregnancy and Postpartum Health Alliance of Texas, whose mission is to connect central Texans to mental health resources before, during, and after pregnancy. She has recently completed an intensive 9 month training course on eating disorders with an emphasis on Health at Every Size (HAES) and social justice. Dr. Schafer has been active in the MHPG of ASRM and is currently a member of the Executive Committee.
