Molly Moverek
Molly B. Moravek, MD, MPH is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology, Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility, and the Department of Urology. Dr. Moravek received her bachelor's degree at the University of Michigan, then attended the University of Michigan Medical School, where she received both her medical degree and a master’s degree in public health. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Michigan, and her fellowship in Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility at Northwestern University, where she also received a master’s degree in clinical investigation. Following fellowship, Dr. Moravek was recruited back to the University of Michigan, where she serves as the director of the Fertility Preservation Program and the IVF Medical Director. Under her leadership, the fertility preservation program has expanded significantly, allowing more patients to receive fertility counseling and preservation services before starting chemotherapy or radiation. Dr. Moravek also follows these patients after treatment, providing fertility services and hormone replacement, if needed. Dr. Moravek is the vice-chair of the Pediatric Initiative Network of the Oncofertility Consortium. She is currently conducting research in the long-term outcomes of cancer patients who underwent fertility preservation compared to those that did not, as well as factors that affect access to and utilization of fertility preservation services. Dr. Moravek also has a clinical interest in transgender care, and provides gender- affirming hormone therapy and fertility counseling and treatment for transgender patients. She is conducting research on the attitudes and knowledge of transgender patients in fertility and fertility preservation, and has developed a mouse model to study the effect of gender-affirming hormones on reproduction and offspring. She is also developing a multi-institutional database to track IVF outcomes in transgender men.
